Barragán’s whole professional archive has remained in Switzerland, inaccessible since 1995. The film unfolds as part detective story, exploring national heritage and repatriation, and part reflective diary documenting artistic process.
I found myself challenged and engaged in equal measure. And like the proposal exhibition which raises questions about art’s financial and symbolic value and private versus public ownership, the film was strong both conceptually and visually.
